A group of students from the school Nuestra Señora del Carmen in Portugalete share their testimony after reflecting about why people have to flee their home:
”We learned, through fun activities and workshops, that in the world there are many reasons that cause so conflicts and wars. Sometimes we think that migrants and refugees come because they want to, and that is why we have so many prejudices. We did not realise that this is not the case, and that all people have the same rights.
We have learned to see migrants and refugees with different eyes and to respect them. We have understood what the life of migrants is like… They have done nothing wrong so everything that happens to them happens because they have to leave their homes, their villages, their families, their friends, their work… One of the things that has caught our attention has been to see how the rich exploit people who have nothing and who want to go to another country because they cannot continue living in their own country.”
Todos tenemos los mismos derechos
Un grupo de estudiantes del colegio Nuestra Señora del Carmen en Portugalete comparte su testimonio después de reflexionar sobre las causas que obligan a las personas a huir de sus hogares:
[…] hemos conocido, a través de actividades divertidas y talleres cómo en el mundo hay muchos intereses y por eso hay tantos conflictos y guerras. A veces pensamos que las personas que vienen lo hacen porque quieren, y por eso tenemos tantos prejuicios, y no nos damos cuenta de que no es así, y de que todas las personas tenemos los mismos derechos.
Hemos aprendido a ver a las personas migrantes y refugiadas con otros ojos, y a respetarlas. Hemos entendido cómo es la vida de las personas migrantes, viviendo algo parecido a lo que les toca vivir; y que ellas no han hecho nada para que les pase todo lo que les pasa por lo que tienen que abandonar sus casas, sus pueblos, sus familias, amigos, trabajo,… una de las cosas que me ha llamado la atención ha sido ver cómo los ricos explotan a las personas que no tienen nada y que quieren ir a otro país porque en el suyo no pueden seguir viviendo.
Denok eskubide berdinak ditugu
Portugaleteko Nuestra Señora del Carmen ikastetxeko ikasle talde batek bere testigantza partekatzen du, jendea etxetik alde egitera behartzen dituzten zergatiei buruz hausnartu eta gero.
[…] jarduera eta tailer ezberdinen bitartez, ezagutu ahal izan dugu munduan interes ugari daudela, eta horrexegatik sortzen direla hainbat gerra eta gatazka. Batzuetan pentsatzen dugu etortzen diren pertsonak etortzen direla nahi dutelako, eta horrexegatik dauzkagu hainbat aurreiritzi, eta ez gara konturatzen ez dela horrela gertatzen, eta pertsona guztiok eskubide berberak ditugula.
Ikasi ere egin dugu pertsona migratzaileak eta errefuxiatuak geure begiez ikusten eta errespetatzen. Migratzaileen bizitza nolakoa den ulertu dugu, beren bizipenen antzeko zerbait gureganatuz, baita atzeman ere migratzaileek ez dutela ezer berezirik egin gertatzen zaiena gertatzeko, hau da, beren etxeak, herriak, familiak, lagunak, lan eta abar uzteko. Oso deigarria izan da niretzat ikustea nola aberatsek esplotatzen dituzten deusik ez dutenak, eta, horren ondorioz, beste herrialde batera joan nahi dutela, beren herrian ezin dutelako bizitzen jarraitu.
