What I learned from CHANGE – part 3

If it hadn’t been for A. telling us about his difficult experience, I would have been part of that group of people who don’t know what it’s like to face such a difficult change of life.

 

Before him, I was convinced that such a journey lasted about one, two weeks at the most. But when she said “11 months,” I was literally speechless. Almost a whole year to reach salvation. I couldn’t believe it.

 

This is what I meant by “you don’t judge a book by its cover.” Hunger, cold, fear, fatigue. These are some of the emotions that not only A. experienced, but his companions, and those who did not make it.

Cosa ho imparato da CHANGE – terza parte

 

 

Se non ci fosse stato A. a raccontarci della sua difficile esperienza, avrei fatto parte di quel gruppo di persone che non sanno cosa si provi ad affrontare un cambio di rotta tanto difficile.

 

Prima di lui, ero convinta che un tale viaggio durasse circa una, due settimane al massimo. Ma quando ha detto “11 mesi”, sono rimasta letteralmente senza parole. Quasi un intero anno per arrivare alla salvezza. Non riuscivo a crederci.

 

Questo intendevo per “non si giudica un libro dalla copertina.”

 

Fame, freddo, paura, stanchezza. Queste sono alcune delle emozioni che, non solo A., ha vissuto, ma i suoi compagni, e quelli che non ce l’hanno fatta.
